Hints & tips
It’s who you know you are. Your application is your first chance to show off all of your key skills and achievements, so take the time to get it right. This is also where you can do some detailed research on the Firm, and really show us how passionate you are about joining.
Don’t forget to check your form before submitting it, as most candidates are unsuccessful because of their attention to detail.
Make sure you follow the instructions carefully and complete the tests within the set time frame. Try to do as many practice tests as you can to familiarise yourself with the process.
Talking to a camera can be daunting, but it is your opportunity to showcase not only your talents and achievements but your personality too. Take advantage of the practice questions to familiarise yourself with the process.
Research the Firm and prep your answers for any questions that may come up on the day. It’s also a good idea to re-read your initial application and remind yourself of the experiences and achievements you described.
“I think at Baker McKenzie, sometimes as a trainee you might be emailing or dealing with 20 different countries in one day. So being able to think about how you manoeuvre and navigate yourself to deal with that specific country, and just having that international mindset is really crucial.”
