As well as offering an amazing insight into life at the Firm, this scheme will help you to prepare for when you come to apply for our Vacation Schemes and/or Direct Training Contract.
What the scheme involves
Over two days, our First Year Insight Scheme offers a broad insight into how a big, global law firm like Baker McKenzie operates, with structured sessions to introduce you to our various departments and the work we do.
We’ll help you develop your commercial awareness and understanding of what being a Trainee Solicitor involves. Then, through a series of group tasks and interactive workshops, you’ll start to build the core skills you need to succeed in the role.
You’ll be allocated a Trainee buddy, who’ll be there to offer you advice and support. With plenty of networking opportunities too. You’ll also benefit from one-to-one sessions with our Graduate Recruitment & Development team.

First-year students in any degree discipline.
The scheme will be run over two days on Wednesday 5th and Thursday 6th May 2027.
You should be on track for a 2:1 or above. We use a contextualised recruitment system, which enables us to consider those with real potential who fall slightly short of our criteria.
At the Baker McKenzie office in London.
We will cover expenses up to £100.
