As a firm, we’re serious about making a positive difference. Not just to our clients, but the communities we’re part of and the wider world too. Bring a head full of bright ideas and a clear sense of purpose, and in return we’ll give you the chance to do the same.

Each year, we elect two main charities which we support for 12 months. We also run a Volunteer Day scheme that gives staff the chance to take paid time off to work with charities. In recent years, our people have refurbished classrooms, contributed to primary school reading schemes and served lunches to the homeless.
Pro bono work is a fundamental part of life at Baker McKenzie. From providing commercial support to charities, through to human rights research and advocacy, it gives our lawyers a chance to help those who may not otherwise have access to justice. Our key pro bono clients include Amnesty International, Save the Children and UNHCR.
“The pro bono seat has allowed me to enhance the skills learned over the course of my Training Contract, as well as gain new insights and opportunities through a variety of meaningful matters. I’ve also had the chance to go on secondment with a pro bono client, which has taught me much about in-house practice, commercial legal work, and the third sector.”

Sustainability sits at the core of our business strategy. For us, responsible business means building a firm for the future — one that can support our clients’ success, while preserving our commitments to our people, our communities and our planet.

We strive to use our skills, creativity and influence to promote dignity, human rights and equality in every aspect of what we do. Whether fostering our own internal culture, interacting with global clients, or engaging with the communities where we live and work, we are guided by these principles.
At Baker McKenzie, we believe that the best way for an organisation to engage meaningfully on sustainability-related issues begins by exemplifying best practice in its own operations. That’s why we apply the same rigor to advancing our own sustainability strategy as we do to advising our clients, holding ourselves to the same high standards as we recommend to them.
