The Baker Tech Grant
What is it?
This is a grant of up to £750 to put towards the purchase of a laptop, associated equipment or WiFi services for Baker McKenzie future trainees studying the SQE course. It can be provided in addition to the standard maintenance grant and the Baker Boost grant to help ensure that the cost of qualifying as a Solicitor does not form a barrier to entering the profession. It’s also evidence of our commitment to improving social mobility in the legal profession and increasing the diversity of candidates who apply for a Training Contract.
When can I apply for this grant?
Successful applicants can use the grant to purchase or claim up to £750 to cover any of the following:
- A laptop (tablets are not included)
- Additional equipment such as a mouse, keyboard, monitor, cables
- WiFi connection / booster
