What is it?
This is a grant of up to £750 to put towards the purchase of a laptop, associated equipment or WiFi services for Baker McKenzie future trainees studying the GDL / LPC / SQE course. It can be provided in addition to the standard maintenance grant and the Baker Boost grant to help ensure that the cost of qualifying as a Solicitor does not form a barrier to entering the profession. It’s also evidence of our commitment to improving social mobility in the legal profession and increasing the diversity of candidates who apply for a training contract.
Successful applicants can use the grant to purchase or claim up to £750 to cover any of the following:
• A laptop (tablets are not included)
• Additional equipment such as a mouse, keyboard, monitor, cables
• WiFi connection / booster
